Bladder Cancer
Most bladder cancers begin in cells that normally make up the inner lining of the bladder (transitional cell carcinoma). Other types include squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma, which result from chronic irritation and inflammation. Smoking tobacco is the most influential risk factor for bladder cancer. Other risk factors include a personal or family history of bladder cancer as well as exposure to occupational chemicals common in certain industries.
